Food and wine
This is an area that enjoys a special microclimate, a place where people, languages and traditions have come together; this makes it a joy to experience the cuisine of Friuli Venezia Giulia. Prepared with a harmony that has its roots in distant Mittel-European, Mediterranean and Slav influences.
In an area where vines have been grown since the time of the ancient Romans, it is always a thrill to savour all this history in a glass of one of our great Whites or excellent Reds.
The famous and flavoursome ham, Prosciutto di San Daniele, fresh fish from our seas, used to prepare “Boreto” or “Scampi alla Busara”, cheeses of all shapes and sizes, such as Montasio and smoked ricotta, traditional farm-cured meats, herbs, Carso olive oil, grappa, honey and confectionery: a world of flavours, just waiting to be enjoyed.
